Loss guarantee - terms and notification of loss
The loss guarantee applies in accordance with terms below for the following types of UL travel cards:
- 30/15-day multi-zone cards
- 30/15-day single-zone cards
- 30-day multi-zone card incl. Arlanda add-on
- 30-day Knivsta zone card incl. Arlanda add-on
If you buy one of these cards, refered as UL travel card below, you can get a new card if you lose it. These are the terms:
Meaning
1. The benefit of being able to get a new card if the UL travel card is lost means that UL supplies a new card equivalent to the lost card.
Conditions
2. The benefit only applies if the UL travel card has been purchased online on UL's website.
3. The person who ordered the UL travel card has the right to the benefit.
The authorised user is normally the person who bought the UL travel card on their own behalf. Alternatively, the authorised user may be someone who has received a card ordered for them by another person (e.g. this is usually the case when a parent/guardian buys a card for a minor, or an employer buys a card for an employee).
The person who buys a UL travel card on their own behalf and the person who has the right to use one, e.g. a minor, are called authorised users below.
4. A new UL travel card is obtained only after the submission of a fully filled in written notification in accordance with UL's form (see below) together with a copy of the police notification.
The notification of loss, with a copy of the police notification attached, must be submitted to UL as soon as possible, but not later than ten days after the loss of the UL travel card is discovered. The authorised user normally receives a reply from UL within five working days.
The replacement card is sent to the address that the authorised user gave in the notification of loss.
5. Cards that replace lost UL travel cards are not refundable by UL.
Restrictions
6. The benefit does not apply to the:
- loss of a UL travel card that has been given to, or used by, a person other than the orderer.
- loss of a UL travel card resulting from the negligence of the orderer, e.g. a UL travel card stolen because it was kept in unattended clothes, premises or vehicles.
- loss of a UL travel card notified later than ten days after the loss is discovered (or should have been discovered).
- other costs or damages that arise as a result of the loss.
- loss of a UL travel card when the card's remaining validity period is less than 20 days.
- more than one loss per authorised user and year. Twelve months must therefore have passed for authorised users who have benefitted from the right to invoke the right to replacement.
- situations where UL may otherwise be considered to have reasonable grounds for refusing the customer's use of the benefit. For example, UL may refuse the use of the benefit where there is reasonable suspicion of improper use, e.g. if several losses have been notified by the same person or the same household.
