UL/SL cards
Download info folder here.
A 30-day joint UL/SL card was introduced on October 1, 2008 in order to facilitate the commute between Uppsala and Stockholm.
This card is called the UL/SL card. The UL/SL card is available in five varieties and is intended for passengers who travel across the county line.
The UL transit network is divided into two zones. One zone for Uppsala, and one for other municipalities. SL has three zones - A, B and C. When selecting a commute region for your UL/SL-card, note that Stockholm county is divided between Zone C North and remaining zones.
See zone map here.

Special rules for SL/UL cards
Since the UL/SL card is a joint initiative between UL and SL, it is subject to special rules. It is helpful to note these rules when your travels span both counties. When traveling in the SL transit network, SL's rules apply. For the part of your trip that takes place in the UL network, UL's rules apply:
• In the UL transit network, up to two children six years of age or younger may ride for free when accompanying a paying passenger. In the SL network, there is no limit to the number of children that may accompany a paying passenger.
• In the UL transit network, you may bring your bike on some buses. Bikes are not allowed on UL buses.
• If you have a card that is valid for the entire SL area, you can swipe your card at the barrier, or, when traveling by bus or train, simply present your card to the driver or conductor. If your card is valid for SL Zone C North only, you will also have to present your card to the barrier attendant. In UL transit network, you can use the available machines.
• The UL/SL-card is not valid for the PLUS zones Gävle, Västerås or Strängnäs.
Travel warranty
Travel warrantyIf you wish to seek compensation for delays caused by travel with your UL/SL card, contact the transit company responsible for the delay. Please note that UL requires notification no later than two weeks after the date of the delay in question, while SL has a three-month notification deadline.
Damaged cards
Damaged cardsDamaged UL/SL cards may be exchanged at the SL Center or presented on the bus until the expiration date.
How to pay when your card is not valid
If you want to continue your trip beyond the validity range of your card, you must purchase a new ticket to add-on your card. The respective SL and UL zone systems apply.
