Season ticket
Upplands Lokaltrafik (UL) has various validity areas (zones) for season tickets. Cards are available for different numbers of journeys and days and for cheap-rate travel. Season tickets are non-personal.
Single-zone cards
Single-zone cards are valid for journeys within one zone. The zone boundaries for single-zone cards largely follow the boundaries of municipalities. There are 8 zones:
Skutskär zone
Municipality of Älvkarleby and UL services to/from Gävle. The X-Trafik season ticket valid for Gävle – Skutskär is valid for travel throughout the municipality of Älvkarleby. If you live in the municipality of Älvkarleby and need to travel further with Gävle Stadstrafik or X-Trafik outside the Gävle zone, you can travel the whole way on an X-Trafik card. Note that the card includes zone 92.
Tierp zone
Municipality of Tierp, and on changes between routes 814 and 821 in Läby provided the journey starts and ends in the municipality of Tierp.
Heby zone
The card is valid within the municipality of Heby and on journeys to/from Sala.
Östhammar zone
Municipality of Östhammar. Passengers from Alunda, see also Uppsala zone.
Uppsala zone

The Uppsala single-zone is also valid for Stadstrafiken in Uppsala (NB The card must be stamped with the last day of validity on a UL bus, on Upptåget or at the enquiries service, Upplysningen).
Knivsta zone
Municipality of Knivsta and for journeys to/from Sigtuna and Arlanda by bus. Travelling by Upptåget to Arlanda and passing through the ticket barriers at Arlanda needs a card for the Knivsta zone with Arlanda add-on or a separate ticket.
Bålsta zone
Municipality of Håbo and on routes 803 and 890 to/from the county of Stockholm.
Multi-zone cards
Valid for journeys throughout the UL service area, regardless of how many zone boundaries are crossed and whether the route enters adjacent counties, and on SJ services Tierp - Uppsala, Heby - Uppsala and vice versa. The card is also valid on route 848 for journeys to and from Västmanland and route 639 south of Hallstavik.
UL travel cards on Stadstrafiken in Uppsala
UL's multi- and single-zone cards for Uppsala are also valid for Stadstrafiken routes in Uppsala. However, this requires the last validity date to be stamped on the card, which is done by using the card at least once on a UL bus or on Upptåget. Give the card to the driver when you get on a city bus route.
TiM
TiM, Trafik i Mälardalen, is a partnership between UL, SJ and the regional operators in Mälardalen. For journeys within this area, there are tickets and season tickets for multi-modal journeys: UL + SJ, UL + SJ + county services, in some cases urban services. The stations for interchanges between UL services and SJ are Bålsta, Enköping, Knivsta and Uppsala.
TiM season ticket
As with UL's season tickets, there are TiM cards for single- and multi-zone journeys on UL services. The TiM card is valid for 30 days, personalised and valid for an unlimited number of journeys during the period. There are single-zone cards for the Uppsala, Enköping and Bålsta zones. The card for the Uppsala zone is for UL services within the zone or Stadstrafiken in Uppsala. Multi-zone cards are valid throughout UL’s service area and on SJ’s Tierp–Uppsala (and vice versa) trains, but not on Stadstrafiken in Uppsala. See also www.tim-trafik.se
