Procurements

Together with our contractors and partners, we will develop a jointly owned business based on a "win-win" relationship.

UL has no in-house transit services; we procure our services from third-party providers. The same applies to most of the other services required in our capacity as transit authority, including the ticket system, printing of timetables, consulting, financial systems, etc.
Relationships with our contractors and business partners are governed by contractual agreements. In an effort to develop this joint business venture, UL proposes business-friendly contract conditions which are easy to fulfill.
Clear economic incentives are included in our contracts to strengthen engagement in our operations. Our goal is to achieve an increased level of travel based on shared success factors: more passengers -- higher revenues -- higher compensation for contractors (win-win).
It is also important to take advantage of our contractors' experiences from daily contact with passengers in order to continually improve and streamline our operations. Part of our work involves following new developments in legislation and best practices regarding skills required for drivers in public transit.
