Upptåget weekend service - new item on
the new summer timetable for Regiontrafiken in Uppsala county
On June 17, the UL summer timetable will take effect for Regiontrafiken buses and Upptåget. For bus traffic, bus stops will change at the Resecentrum; otherwise, service remains largely the same as last summer. For Upptåget, weekend service will be added north of Tierp while service south of Uppsala will become somewhat less frequent.
On Sunday, the summer time table will take effect for UL's regional buses and Upptåget. The timetable is valid from June 17 to August 19 and contains similar changes to previous summer timetables for bus service, and a number of new items for Upptåget.
Bus services
Construction at Resecentrum in Uppsala is entering a new phase, which means changes to bus stops traffic on certain routes. Bus stops in the southern part of the bus terminal, close to Bäverns gränd, will be removed for the construction work taking place there during the summer. New stops will be added Stadshusgatan during the summer, which will have bus service in both directions. Notice boards at the bus station will be changed over the weekend and flyers with the new bus stops are available on board Regiontrafiken buses.
Service will be downsized somewhat and routes that primarily serve to take children to and from school will be temporarily discontinued and return on August 20.
In Öregrund, buses will turn around on Håkanssonsgatan, between Skolgatan and Rådhusgatan, as the traffic situation in Öregrund means that buses cannot travel to the ferries during the summer.
Upptåget
The new timetable means that weekend service with Upptåget will involve five trips southward on the leg Gävle - Tierp and four trips to the north.
Southbound trains will depart from Skutskär at 08:43, from Gävle at 10:30, 14:30, 16:30 and 23:00. The latter service also runs Monday - Friday.
Northbound trains depart from Tierp at 09:36, 12:56, 14:56 and 21:56.
Beginning Saturday, July 7 all Upptåg trains running Gävle - Tierp and vice versa will also stop at the station in Mehedeby. An inauguration will be held on July 7 at 10:30.
South of Uppsala (Uppsala, Sweden - Knivsta - Arlanda- Upplands Väsby) Upptåget will run every hour during the day and evenings Monday - Friday and during weekends. Starting August 20, half-hourly service will recommence.
The new timetable is available at all points of sale where UL cards are sold, and on board all buses and Upptåget.
