Buses replace trains during track construction work.

During the weekend of August 25 to 27, Banverket will be carrying out major track construction work north of central Uppsala. Upptåget will be replaced by bus service on the route Uppsala-Vattholma.

Beginning 2:00 am on the night of Saturday, August 25 until 4:00 am on Monday, August 27, the tracks just north of Uppsala Central Station will be closed for a major construction work. This means that all trains north of Uppsala will be replaced by bus service.

For Upptåget, this means that all trains after the Friday night departure to Tierp at 01:19 will be replaced by bus services on the route Uppsala - Vattholma. A total of 40 departures in each direction will be affected by the construction.

Upptåget replacement buses will depart from Vattholma station a few minutes after Upptåget arrives from the north and then run directly to central Uppsala. The travel time by bus will be around 30 minutes. The replacement bus from Uppsala will depart from bus stop C1 at the new bus terminal in Resecentrum; the bus leaves 19 minutes before the normal departure time of the northbound train. Upptåget will run on a normal schedule on the route Gävle-Tierp-Storvreta and Uppsala Knivsta-Arlanda-Upplands Väsby.

Passengers who ordinary travel through Uppsala will need to transfer to the bus for the Uppsala-Vattholma leg and will therefore need to factor in a longer travel time than usual. Anyone who is in a hurry should depart earlier in order to arrive at the final station in time.

Those traveling between Storvreta and Uppsala will take Stadstrafiken buses.
